Steve enjoys building long-term relationships with clients. By empowering and supporting them to pursue their goals and improve their lives, he believes his clients’ families and community are better by extension. A true professional, he specializes in investment management, advanced business planning, and personal, estate, and Social Security planning.
What does your life look like outside of the office?
Active in his community, and with ministry opportunities, Steve is a current board member and former chair of The Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation, prior chair of New Day Clubhouse, and served with numerous other entities. He teaches fifth-grade Sunday school and supports initiatives to create prosperous and holy communities in the U.S. and abroad.
A Spartanburg, South Carolina, native, Steve and his wife, Clare, have three children, Grayson, Olivia, and Hampton.
What can you tell us about your professional journey?
Prior to joining Signature Wealth Strategies, Steve was a financial advisor with Alliance Wealth Partners for 7 years and Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch for 13 years. Formally certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court as a specialist in both taxation and estate planning law, he brings unique knowledge and experience to the team. Steve was a law clerk to the Honorable James B. Stephen, a contributing drafter of the state’s college savings plan, as well as a member of the state treasurer’s office select committee to create the plan. He graduated from Wofford College with a bachelor’s degree in economics, earned his JD from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and earned a Masters of Laws in Taxation from Emory University School of Law. He continued his education to become a Certified Financial Planner™ Professional.
