How do you empower your clients to live their Signature Life?

At Signature, I work with all direct and partner offices to assist with sales and marketing to ensure that what our offices have in place are in full alignment with what a client wants and needs for their future.

How do you empower your clients to live their Signature Life?

I live in Mooresville with my wife and two children. We have been members of the Mooresville community since 1996. My daughter attends the University of Tennessee and my son is in high school. I have been involved in and greatly enjoyed coaching sports for both of my children since they were in grade school. We live in the Lake Norman area and enjoy outside activities especially boating, wake-surfing and snowboarding in the mountains.

What can you tell us about your professional journey?

From starting my career as a wholesaler in 1999 to co-founding StoneStreet Wealth Management* in 2015, I have always been known to put in my full attention and talents to any endeavor. After receiving my Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management from Kutztown University in 1992, I received additional training from the Securities Industry Institute sponsored by SIFMA and the Wharton School in 2014. I worked to become a leader in wholesaling, and then made the transition to Lincoln Financial Group, where I was quickly promoted to Divisional Sales Manager and then National Sales Manager and Head of Fixed Sales. Though I loved managing multi-billion dollar businesses, eventually the travel became tiresome, and I made my way from Wall Street back to Main Street by joining forces with Ealon S. "Tripp" Thompson III to found StoneStreet in downtown Mooresville, North Carolina.

How do you empower your clients to live their Signature Life?

I encourage clients to enjoy their money and not save every nickel. Many of our clients are super conservative with money and we plan for estates and other things like tithes, gifts and vacations because these are life experiences!

What does your life look like outside of the office?

I have two children, my son attends the University of Tennessee and my daughter will be on her way to North Carolina State. In my spare time, I enjoy watching my kids play sports and continually reading and researching the information on the financial markets around the world.

What can you tell us about your professional journey?

After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor's degree in Sports Administration, I began my career in 1996 with AG Edwards. Once transitioned into the institutional side of the business in 1999, I was consistently one of the top wholesalers with The Hartford, The Phoenix Companies, AIG's SunAmerica, and The AXA Company. Following these successes, I was swiftly recruited into management by Lincoln Financial in 2007. Eventually, my drive and knowledge of the business allowed me to rise to the position of Divisional Sales Manager for the Northeast and Southeast divisions. In 2015, I joined with John W. Chidwick to found StoneStreet Wealth Management, and the rest is history.

How do you empower your clients to live their Signature Life?

I met Tripp Thompson, co-founder of what is now Signature Wealth Strategies Charlotte, by happenstance and we struck up a conversation which lead to an opportunity to join the team as an assistant. It was here that I discovered my passion for financial advising, as it combined my affinity and talent for numbers with my desire to teach and help others.

From there, I worked hard to learn all of the ins and outs of the financial industry. After earning my Series 7 and Series 66 Licenses and my Licensure as a North Carolina Life and Health Agent, I had grown into a valuable member of Signature Wealth. I take pride in continually looking for ways to expand my knowledge and experiences to ensure I have the most up-to-date ways to advise my clients.

What does your life look like outside of the office?

I live in Sherrills Ford, NC with my family and enjoy wheel-throwing pottery and being active in the Methodist church and local community.

What can you tell us about your professional journey?

Though I was raised in Charlotte, NC, I started my professional career as a middle and high school mathematics teacher in Nashville, Tennessee where I lived with my wife, Jessica, after we married in 2007. Once we learned we were expecting our son, Maxwell, in 2013 we decided to move back to the North Carolina area to be closer to family.

How do you empower your clients to live their Signature Life?

By first listening and really understanding the unique situation of each person and family, and then building a customized plan to help them live the life they want now and in the future. Seeing my clients fulfilling their dreams and living their best lives is what drives me.

What does your life look like outside of the office?

I currently live in Nashville TN with my wife, Jamie Lee, our 7-month old daughter, Reese, and two mini Goldendoodles, Doc and Dublin. We love traveling, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying all that life has to offer. Some of my passions outside of family and work include writing and playing music, acting and producing, playing and watching sports, boating and snowboarding.

What can you tell us about your professional journey?

I graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a concentration in Management. When the company I interned with prior to graduation had been laying employees off, I took my business degree and worked in a warehouse outside of Philadelphia, PA for 5 days a week starting at 4 am. It turned out to be a great way to save money right out of college and it gave me extra time to study and learn more about the stock market. After six months, I joined Lincoln Financial Group as a sales representative and was immersed in the financial industry and it’s there that I found my passion for investments and becoming a financial advisor one day. I worked my way up to a regional director which moved my wife and I to Nashville, TN in 2013. For eight years, I traveled all over the mid-south, consulting and working with a diverse group of financial advisers representing a variety of companies, from large firms in the city to small-town independent practices. During my time, I realized that the best advisors and the ones I enjoyed working with the most, were those that truly cared about their clients and had a passion for the industry. I have a strong passion for helping people and with my experience in comprehensive wealth management and the endless resources from my partners I wake up every day excited to help people achieve their goals and retire on their terms.

Susie Hudgins,

Office Manager, RJFS

How do you empower your clients to live their Signature Life?

My primary role at Signature includes assisting the operations of the Charlotte and Mooresville offices and most importantly building relationships and providing the highest level of customer service to meet the needs and expectations of our clients; many of whom I have worked with for over 20 years.

What does your life look like outside of the office?

I am a native of beautiful Charlotte, NC where I currently live with my husband, Don and our 2 standard poodles. My greatest joy is spending time with our two children and their families. I also enjoy vacationing on the NC coast, relaxing on the beach, clamming, fishing, and learning to cook the catch of the day.

What can you tell us about your professional journey?

I began my career in banking as a customer service representative and later pursued a career in accounting, working in management and administrative roles with two local accounting firms specializing in small business accounting including corporate, individual, and partnership tax preparation. In 1994, I accepted a position in the corporate accounting division of a local manufacturing company and was instrumental in implementing a new payroll system, managing payroll for 250+ employees, and traveled with the accounting team to conduct inventory control audits throughout the year. In April 1997, I began working with Richard “Dick” Megorden and when Dick sought to increase the value proposition of his practice by partnering with StoneStreet Wealth Management (now Signature Wealth - Charlotte) I was an integral part of this alliance.

In that capacity I helped to facilitate the partnership with StoneStreet Wealth Management, as well as the transition to Raymond James Financial Services.

What does your life look like outside of the office?

I enjoy traveling and have been to Israel and Italy twice, a wonderful experience. I am active in my church and chair of Community Ministries. Best ever is being at the beach with a good Summer read and spending time with my 11 grandchildren and 4 great-children!
